This innovative, unifying approach puts an end to the partitioning of historical photography and contemporary art and mixes monograph and thematic exhibitions, artistic and three-dimensional images with mechanical ones, taking into account ongoing technological transformations. The exhibitions, prepared with the help of specialists and researchers, are accompanied by catalogues and exhibition guides. The Jeu de Paume also explores the world of images, their uses and the issues they raise, in a public programme of films, talks, symposia and teaching projects. It has its own commercial and distribution activities.
